The Toyota iQ vs. The Fiat 500 Comparison Guide

Two of the recent main players in the micro city car market are the Japanese made Toyota iQ and the Italian made Fiat 500.

So what are the main comparisons between the two cars?

With the Toyota iQ you have a car which is less than 3m in length, so it doesn’t take up as much room with driving or parking as the Fiat 500, which is over 3.5m and there is more interior room with the Toyota due it being higher and wider than it’s Fiat rival. Both car manufacturers offer similar engine sizes in both petrol and diesel models and have approximately the same fuel consumption. They also offer a similar range of retro colors to choose from, but the best designed car from both an interior and exterior point of view would have to be with the Toyota iQ, which has a better looking body with sporty bumpers, sills and alloys. The Fiat 500 just seems to have an average looking designed body and basic alloys.

People look for different things when buying a car which usually includes performance, choice of colors, interior and exterior look, gadgets, room, functionality, fuel consumption, insurance and road tax costs.

The Toyota iQ and the Fiat 500 have quite a few similarities when it comes to the above criteria, but the Japanese car manufacturer seem to have gone that extra mile and improved on the available interior space and made the car much more appealing to the eye than the majority of it’s micro city car competitors including the Fiat 500.

There is no shortage of micro city and retro cars in the marketplace and it seems that, nearly every car manufacturer is climbing over each other to bring out the latest design and try to capture the imagination of the younger audience with expensive advertising campaigns and catchy messages.

Most car manufacturers now place a strong emphasis on stylish bodywork accompanied by retro paint colors and the Toyota iQ certainly falls in to that category over it’s main competition and this is a car that really looks the part, will offer you a fun driving experience and is quite affordable especially for the younger audience.
